I learned a safety rule, I don't know who to thank...
2005-08-08 - 4:04 p.m.

So very, very, very tired.

Back from land grab and sitting here at work trying to stay awake. Tonight I have to have with my parents, since I haven’t seen them in weeks. After that I am coming home and going to bed. I am tired, people, have I mentioned that?

Heh.

Kim wanted me to post an entry today, and so to humor her, I will.

Land grab went fairly well. We lost a little of our frontage but got more room in the trees. We got cool neighbors too so that is a plus.

The trailer handled very well, and it was a much smoother ride than we had anticipated. We got in around 3 am (45 delay on the turnpike) and set up our cots outside the truck. This year, the Coopers had huge sodium lights connected to generators, which made sleep…difficult. Mongue and his lady pulled up next to us so it was nice to have Atlantians as neighbors. ;-)

We awoke after a very cold night and trundled down to wait for Landgrab to start at the barn. I had chocolate donuts that I had secured on the Turnpike the night before and passed them around while we waited.

Ran into Little John in the privy and found out that the asshats on our block had already started contacting him, and that Lucan was assigned to us as a ‘problem’ block. Ugh.

Negotiations went fairly smoothly. The Guy who is an obnoxious prick, was in fact, an obnoxious prick. Other folks where exceeding cool though and we got things worked out in good time, with no disputes.

Set up was difficult because most of our work crew got there several hours late and then got stuck in horrific lines at troll (took them 1.5 hours). But we still managed by the end of the weekend to get almost everything done that needed to be done. Kim even had a nice little fire to sit around at night and drink Penn Pilsners at.

I want to say for the record that TJ is just about the coolest dude I know in the world. If it is possible, he has gone up in my estimation of him. He just calms me, and everyone else around him. He is a Zen master, I swear to god.

After getting stuff set up on Sunday some of us went and got wings at Quaker Steak and Lube. Good food as usual.

Overall it was a good weekend.

But lord I am tired.

I love my wife btw. She rocketh like the rockinist socks in the box. Just sayin…
