Out in my car is brand new (to me) rental Soprano Sax. Please wish me luck and send out some prayers. This is going to be humbling. It has been a dozen years since I have really touched a saxophone and I never played soprano. But I have the next three months to fool around with it and see if I dig it enough to commit to one.

Also, it looks like on Crown Tourney weekend I will be heading to Dallas, Texas for WizardWorld (a comic book convention for those of you that don’t know). This will be the first time I’ve ever been to a Con in fact. I’m excited about it. I’m thrilled to be getting a little vacation (though guilty that Kimmie can’t come) and a change in scenery.

I also haven’t been to Texas since…1987 or so…not that I’ve missed it.

In health news, the antibiotics just didn’t touch the pink eye so I went ahead and got on the Roids. As usual, I currently feel 8 feet tall and bulletproof, but I’m on eggshells, angerwise. I am going to take it very carefully and make sure my eyes are 100% better before I put in contacts to fight again. So that means no practice on Tuesday, and maybe not Thursday either. I might go to the Isenfir event whether I fight or not to give Kim a chance to paint our bedroom. (Paint fumes kill me…) But maybe not. I might come in here and work a little.

I got a little raise at work this week, which was really needed…right now I have some debts that I have to pay off and more on the way so every little bit is a godsend.

I watched “Final Cut” and the new “Longest Yard” yesterday. Yard was pretty cute, if for nothing else, it was fun to watch Goldberg replace Kevin Nash’s steroids for Estrogen, and watch him cry and rub his sore nipples. Seeing Steve Austin as an abusive redneck racist wasn’t too much of a stretch either.

Final Cut was fairly awful. I’ve been in a Sci-Fi mood recently, which is weird, because usually I’m not really about that stuff. But something about the genre is calling to me right now so I’m going with it.

Also, on Friday night we watched “I, Robot” on HBO, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

And we have been religiously following the repeats of Smallville on the Family Channel and stayed up way too late to catch (and record) this weeks episode. Also, Rome has continued to delight.

All in all, pretty SCA free, and sorta digging that. I can’t believe that (barring Isenfir) I won’t be at a fighting event until Ymir, but that is the way it is shaping up. There are always practices of course, and next year will be plenty busy.

Oh, and I’m negotiating with an armourer for a new helm. The other one I have in the works from a friend of mine has taken about six years and still isn’t completed. If I ever get it, great, I’ll take two kicking helms. In the meantime, the other armourer is quoting me a six-month turn around. I’m willing to pay twice to get a new helm by next season.

Finally a shout out to Ricky, no idea if you read this page or not, but you really helped keep me sane last week. Mad luv.

Oh, and thank freaking God, the Cowboys won in OT. We didn’t get the game of course, but it’s good to know that they didn’t trip on their dicks this week…
