"Cheat to Win! - Eddie Guerraro is my favorite wrestler!"
2005-11-15 - 11:06 a.m.Sick, Sick, Sick with the death plague. I’m really, really dehydrated so now that my morning allotment of Diet Coke is done I am drinking water with a vengeance.
Between the antibiotics and the Mucinex I am like the Sahara over here. My skin is of course, a nightmare because of this. So I’m trying to deal.
One fun side effect is that I think I pooped up part of my childhood earlier this morning. I’m serious, there was like a Dodgeball, some jumping jacks and the head of my Kindergarten teacher, Ms. Taylor in there.
Speaking of which, my mom saw Ms. Taylor recently. I have always strongly suspected that she was a lesbian because there was another Ms. Taylor at the school who was her constant companion, at school functions and around town, and they were clearly not sisters. (If so, they were half-sisters because my Ms. Taylor was like 5x5 and the other one was a bean pole.)
So my association with lesbians began at an early age.

Last night, god took pity on me and the Cowboys squeaked out a 1 point win over the Eagles. They didn’t really deserve to win so it is sorta a mixed bag. I was thrilled when they did pull it off, but a lot of that can be laid at the feet of T.O.'s absence and Mcnabb just crumbling at the end due to his sport’s hernia, and well, just defeat. You could clearly seen that the fight had gone out of him. I’ve seen that look from fighters in big tourneys and wars so many times. He was just whipped.
While watching the game, we flipped back and forth to the RAW Eddie Guerarro special. Eddie died this weekend at the age of 38, only a few years older than me and most of my contemporaries. He was an amazing talent in the ring and had incredible charisma and it is a god damned shame. I’m betting that the autopsy is going to show a heart attack from steroid and drug addiction. (Eddie was a recovering addict.) This was the saddest show of this type I’ve seen since Owen Heart’s death. They did the 10 rings of the bell and the whole interview out of character thing.
I hardly watch Wrestling at all these days, since the product is just so lousy, but last Friday night, while home nursing this funk I watched Smackdown and saw his last match. Eddie was amazing and funny as usual, and won the match to advance to “Survivor Series”, which is of course, ironic as all hell.
The worst part of the night was the video montage they showed set to Johnny Cash’s Hurt. That just totally decimated me and Kim. That song is like a knife to the heart man, and to see someone that young die that way..it just sucks.
All my friends that are overweight, like me, or abuse themselves, please go get yourself checked out, and please start taking care of yourselves. I am in no mood to attend anymore funerals anytime soon.

Warren Ellis mentioned some details on Aaron Sorkin’s next show, Studio 7. I honestly can’t wait for that to get picked up, because while I don’t agree with most of Sorkin’s political views, he is just one hell of a writer. Based on how much I loved his West Wing (not to be confused with the utter tripe that has been on since he was fired) and his SportsNight (go get it on DVD if you’ve never seen it) I’m intrigued to see what he will come up with. His lead in this is a director that has lost his insurance because of his drug addiction, so that will be interesting to see how close to the bone he writes that.
In other news, General Franko is still dead. Ok, I’m going back to work. Update, you bastards! You and my precious bottle of water are all that is good and wonderful in my day right now.
