Ymir was rainy, cold, muddy and... wonderful. I really can't think of a more pleasant nor easy event. Things just went well, there was no drama...just the way it should be. The ceremonies went well, though I totally underestimated the size of Ricky. He is just huge. Now I have to make him another belt. :-)

Everyone made me so proud, from William and Uilleag fighting so well (Uilleag went as far as I've ever gone in that tourney and William made it to the top six and was the only unbelt in the top eight!) to lovely Fennic and her sweet song and care of us. It was just a perfect weekend in many regards and the joy and light of spirit outshown the darkness of the rainy skies.

Camp Kanata is undergoing some major renovations..wow! It is going to look like a whole different site once they are done! I hope the price doesn't skyrocket because the added facilities will really make it a nice site for the SCA's uses.

In other news, Kim has her endoscopy today. While I know that this is minor surgery (I had one a couple of years ago) I still have to admit that I am a wreck about it. I'm worried. :-( Kim's mom is coming up from Hampton and will be there to drive her home this afternoon. Poor Kimmie hasn't had anything to eat or drink since 11pm last night. Bleck.

I love her with all of my heart...

I finished all the Harry Potter books two weeks ago and I’m jonsing for more. Btw, for all you Potter-fiends that are waiting for book 7, in the mean time, if you aren't scared off by the greasy fanboys you'll find there, check out your local comic shop for a graphic novel by Neil Gaimon (creator of Sandman) called "The Books of Magic". It's the story of a young, poor english boy, with dark hair, glasses, and an Owl for a familiar. John Constantine shows up and tells him that he is going to be the most powerful magus of his age. (This was Gaimon having fun tying in his Sandman mythos to the current DCU and is an awesome read.)

And it was written back in the late 80s. There is, as they say, nothing new under the sun...

Go out and buy the books. Gaimon needs the money a lot more than Rowling does anyway...

Anyway, prayers for Kimmie. Prayers for me too. :-(
